Local SEO: How to Clean up Citations for Better SERP Visibility

One does not simply appear in search engine results

With the growing importance of maps in search engine result pages and in knowledge graphs, business information consistency factors significantly into a business’s visibility on search engines like Google and Bing.

A business’s name, address, and phone (NAP) is also called a citation. Basically, search engines scour the internet for instances that may be a business’s citation, so the more frequent and accurate citations are from all of their sources, theoretically, the better that citation and business will rank in maps.
